EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR/PSYCHOTHERAPIST

Who Am I?

Teisha Brown is the one of the founders of Power of Paint Art Academy & Management. She is a licensed Psychotherapist in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania, a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, and a nationally certified counselor. Her educational background includes a B.A. in Psychology from Chestnut Hill College, and a M.A. in Professional Clinical Counseling from LaSalle University. She is currently working on her MBA at Delaware Valley University. Ms. Brown currently serves as the company’s CEO. Additionally, she functions as our in-house psychotherapist.

What Motivates Me?

Ms. Brown originates from Jamaica and moved to America in her late teens.  As a West Indian, she values honesty, integrity, individuality, hard work, creativity, education, family, and free expression. Ms. Brown has  incorporated her passion for talk therapy with expressive means as a way of promoting a safe space for participants to create, share, and form meaningful bonds. Although she mainly handles our behind the scene  operations and therapeutic aspects, she often doubles as an instructor and regularly engages with customers. Her hands on approach, core values, dedication to our cause, and compassion for our students are  what makes Ms. Brown an incomparable asset to P.O.P Art Academy.

Modality

With the understanding that no single approach is the right one for every individual, Ms. Brown utilizes various modalities in her practice. As a result of her eclecticism, she uses cognitive behavior therapy, gestalt  therapy, holistic/integrative therapy, dialectical behavior therapy,  play therapy, family therapy, and narrative therapy. She has worked with  various populations to address trauma, grief and loss, relationship  issues, behavior modification, inner child issues, substance abuse,  parent-child interactions, mental health symptoms (such as, anxiety and  depression), abandonment, stress management, identity disorders,  personality disorders, and self-esteem, among others.

Ms.  Brown possesses a vast array of skills in addition, but not limited, to  web applications, web development and monitoring, and marketing.
