CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Who Am I?

where she combines her background in mental health, nonprofit leadership, and creative programming to support youth and families through art, wellness, education, and community-based experiences.

A licensed psychotherapist in Pennsylvania, Ms. Brown specializes in trauma, grief, and emotional wellness and is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. Her clinical expertise helps shape Power of Paint’s trauma-informed, strengths-based approach to creating safe and engaging spaces where young people can build confidence, resilience, creativity, and meaningful connections.

Ms. Brown holds a B.A. in Psychology from Chestnut Hill College and an M.A. in Professional Clinical Counseling from La Salle University. She is currently pursuing advanced education in Human Sexuality and working toward her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with the goal of becoming a psychologist. She also holds a Certificate in Organizational Leadership from Bryn Mawr College’s Nonprofit Executive Leadership Institute.

Through her leadership, Power of Paint continues to bridge art, mental wellness, education, technology, mentorship, recreation, and community engagement, creating opportunities for young people to explore their strengths and thrive.

What Motivates Me?

Originally from Jamaica, Ms. Brown’s values of family, education, creativity, hard work, individuality, and community deeply influence her leadership.

She believes every young person deserves opportunities to feel safe, seen, supported, and inspired while discovering who they are and what they are capable of becoming. Her passion is creating experiences that go beyond traditional programming by exposing youth to art, technology, wellness, mentorship, recreation, travel, and hands-on learning.

Although she leads Power of Paint’s operations, programming, partnerships, and organizational development, Ms. Brown remains actively involved with participants, families, and staff. Her hands-on leadership reflects her belief that meaningful community impact begins with relationships, opportunity, and creating spaces where people can genuinely thrive.

Clinical & Programmatic Approach

Ms. Brown’s approach is holistic, person-centered, trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally responsive. Her clinical background includes CBT, Psychodynamic Therapy, EMDR, DBT, Expressive Arts, Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused approaches.

Rather than making Power of Paint a traditional therapy environment, this knowledge informs how programs are designed, how staff support participants, and how emotional wellness, resilience, and healthy development are woven naturally into programming.

Her additional skills in technology, coding, digital design, marketing, and program development help Power of Paint connect creativity with innovation and expand opportunities for youth.

As she continues her doctoral training toward becoming a psychologist, Ms. Brown is also strengthening Power of Paint’s focus on research, measurable outcomes, and evidence-informed programming to ensure its programs create meaningful and lasting community impact.
